About the Embassy
The Embassy of the Republic of Zambia in Rome is a diplomatic Mission of the Government of the Republic of Zambia. Its core mandate is to articulate and implement Zambia's foreign policy towards Italy and to further strengthen bilateral relations between the Government and people of Zambia and the Italian Republic.
The Embassy promotes political dialogue, economic cooperation, trade and investment, tourism, cultural exchange, and collaboration in education, science, and technology. It also protects and advances the interests of Zambian citizens in Italy and provides consular services in line with Zambian laws and regulations.

Representing the President, Government, and people of Zambia in Italy.

Explaining Zambia's policies to Italian institutions and relaying Italian positions to Lusaka.

Negotiating and facilitating agreements in areas of mutual interest.

Promoting opportunities in Zambia across priority sectors.
Consular & immigration services
Serving Zambian nationals and foreign nationals.
Diaspora engagement
Supporting the Zambian diaspora and people-to-people links.
The Chargé d'Affaires
Mr Neto Chiinda Halwabala, Counsellor for Political and Administrative Affairs, serves as Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of the Republic of Zambia to the Italian Republic with effect from 15 October 2025, pending the arrival of a substantive Head of Mission.
As Head of Mission, the Chargé d'Affaires provides overall strategic leadership to the Embassy, oversees diplomatic engagements with Italian authorities and international organisations based in Rome, and guides the promotion of Zambia's political, economic, and cultural interests.

The Mission brings together diplomatic, consular and administrative staff working as one team to serve Zambia and its partners in Italy.

Jurisdiction and Accreditation
The Embassy of Zambia in Rome is primarily accredited to the Italian Republic. Subject to formal assignment by the Government of Zambia, the Mission may also be accredited on a non-residential basis to other countries or international organisations headquartered in Italy.
