Accessibility
The Embassy of the Republic of Zambia in Italy is committed to ensuring that this website is accessible to as many people as possible, regardless of ability or technology. We believe that everyone has the right to access public information and services online.
This statement describes the steps we take to make the website accessible, its current conformance status, known limitations, and how to contact us if you experience a barrier.
Our commitment
We aim to meet recognised international accessibility standards and to continually improve the experience for all users. Accessibility is treated as an ongoing effort rather than a one-time exercise, and we consider it whenever we add or update content and features.
Conformance status
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive and neurological disabilities.
This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA, meaning that most — but not necessarily all — content meets the standard. We are working to identify and resolve any remaining gaps.
Measures we take
To support accessibility, we aim to provide a clear and consistent page structure with meaningful headings; sufficient colour contrast between text and background; full keyboard navigability and visible focus indicators; descriptive alternative text for meaningful images; readable, resizable text; and a layout that adapts to different screen sizes and devices.
We also aim to write in plain, clear language and to present information in a logical order so that it is easy to read and understand.
Compatibility
This website is designed to work with current versions of widely used web browsers and, where possible, with common assistive technologies such as screen readers and screen magnifiers. It is best experienced using an up-to-date browser and operating system.
Some features may not perform as expected on older browsers or technologies that are no longer supported by their manufacturers.
Known limitations
Despite our efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible. This can occur with certain documents or files provided for download, with material supplied by third parties, or with older content that has not yet been reviewed. Where we are made aware of such limitations, we work to address them and, where appropriate, to provide the information in an alternative format on request.
Feedback and reporting a barrier
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of this website. If you encounter a barrier, need information in an alternative format, or have suggestions for improvement, please contact the Embassy using the details on the Contact & Location page.
When reporting an issue, it helps if you can describe the page or content concerned, the difficulty you experienced, and the browser or assistive technology you were using. We will do our best to respond promptly and to help you access the information you need.
Report an accessibility issue
If something on this website is difficult to use, please let us know so we can help and continue to improve.
