News · 30 June 2025
Zambia took part in the 44th session of the Conference of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Rome, held under the theme “The State of Food and Agriculture: Fostering Innovation for Food System Transformation.” The Conference brought together ministers and senior officials from FAO member states to discuss agricultural productivity, climate resilience and innovation in food systems.
Zambia used the platform to share national experiences in promoting innovation in agriculture and to advocate for stronger partnerships with Italy and other members. The Mission emphasised the importance of Rome-based multilateral institutions to Zambia's food security and rural-development agenda.
Ambassador Patricia Chisanga Kondolo, who serves as Permanent Representative to FAO, and the Embassy team facilitated Zambia's participation and bilateral engagements with Italian and other delegations on the margins of the Conference.
